Bloody annoyed when here in Toronto we were enjoying watching it all play out and then suddenly it stops after the cop was shot at point blank range and we heard NO MORE! Is that fair?????

I saw this yesterday with my husband AND, for once, not reading the storyline - just saw excerpts from the movie at another movie. It was VERY clever. Amusing bits for a "Nazi' movie. Stephen Merchant was SO well cast, as was everyone else. You have to listen carefully to all lines as some are said softly and very revealing. I'm still thinking about it the next day and not a lot of movies do that. Extremely well done. PS Don't read the whole story before you go. Just go with the flow, and btw, yes I am.

The music is hauntingly beautiful. Every scene is brilliantly worked out and every cast person is real. Palpable. Ralph Fiennes is brilliantly horrible and so good you can taste it. The woman he loves is Jewish, and therefore not human in his eyes, but that doesn't stop him loving her and wanting to grow old with her. He doesn't. His cold shooting of whomever he pleases is so well done. One of the best actors of our times. The cemetery scene at the end where one sees how they aged and who still survived the camp and lived on made me weep. And it's real history. SO beautifully 'executed' if one can use such a word here. Magnificent doesn't really come close.
