LA Ostermann

When I saw Michelle Dockery is in this series, I braced myself for another awful American accent by a Brit. She did great on the accent and was believable throughout. This series has a LOT of killing but there is a story going on. I liked the show and thought it gave characters some dimension.

I love that the cast is not all lily white! Superb job of weaving actors of different looks into a wonderful period piece. The costumes are fantastically colorful and individuality is on display in various characters. Women speak for themselves as much as the era allowed and expressed frustration at their societal constraints. I did not expect such lively sex scenes but they fit where they occur. Super entertaining and enjoyable. I’m reading up on Queen Charlotte because she is played by a dark-skinned actress, and was surprised to learn the Queen had black heritage. I love a show that makes me think while being visually beautiful. Very impressive.
