Wow! I am seeing stars! The many deep and meaningful messages in this film, plus the out of this world acting by Australian actor, Cate Blanchett. She played 13 characters, each preaching slightly different versions of the same message. That we all live in the here and now, and that is all we ever can do, live in the present, not in the past or the future. Artists, politicians, you and me. We have to forget about everything that has gone before and start anew from scratch. Artists must not try to copy or emulate the old masters or current geniuses. Instead they must rely solely on themselves for their own unique creative self-expression. It has to come out of their own unconscious. Having just experienced art therapy for the first time where I had this uniquely individual experience, I knew exactly what admonition this meant. My attitude towards artist, and myself as an artist, was irrevocably changed by watching Manifesto. It was a life-changing and life-enhancing experience. Bravo to everyone involved in its production. An infinite galaxy of stars to you all.
