I remember seeing the trailer for the movie a week prior the premier(I been busy with school work so I was a little behind on movie news) and i told my mother then and there that we got to see it. The week went on so slowly and when the day finally came me and mother got to the theater two hours early just to get the best seat. And when the movie started I got to say... I did not disappoint me in the slight. From Circle of Life to the end credits, The Lion King managed to keep me and my mother, who really wasn't the biggest fan of movies, glued to the gigantic 3D screen of the theater.
While the story hadn't changed significantly, several alterations to the characters were noticeable, Scar and the hyenas being more serious villains being one of the most significant. The voice cast was amazing and the songs were so infectious everyone of us in the theater started singing alongside the characters.
One of the biggest accusations I saw was that the movie lacked heart. If that's the case, how can you explain the goosebumps I got watching Scar push Mufasa over the edge? How do you explain the singing and whooping theater?
While I was the biggest fan of the original movie, Jon Favreau's remake still managed to steal my heart. This is a definite recommend.
