How can so many noteworthy actors...Chastain, Malkovich, Ferrell...fall so far into the wormhole of middle school drama class performances. Not to mention overly long fight scenes rivaled only by those at your local theme parks "action" show. Dull, stilted and utterly devoid of heart, "Ava" should have been shelved for good, never to see the light of day.
