Not every episode was a classic, but the concept and the overall plotlines were great. We never knew exactly who "ran" the Warehouse. Myka, Pete, and the other agents along the way reported to Artie, and Artie reported to Mrs. Frederick. But then we found out that Mrs. Frederick reported to "the Regents", and later that the Regents reported to Adwin Kosan.
Making appearances as characters were H. G. Wells (a woman - "I had the ideas, I did the research, and my brother Charlie had the mustache'), 16th Century Alchemist Paracelsus, le Comte de Sant-Germain and Santa Claus.
Supplementing the regular cast were such talents as Roger Rees, Brent Spiner, Kelly Hu, Kate Mulgrew, Lindsay Wagner, Rene Auberjonois, Mark Sheppard, Anthony Stewart Head, James Marsters, Tia Carera, Jeri Ryan, Judd Hirsch, Laura Innes, Joel Grey, Armin Shimmerman, Cody Rhodes, Jewel Staite, Amy Acker, Sonia Braga, and David Anders.
The big conflict that kept popping up was whether it was better to hide these artifacts away or to use them for the greater good. The question was always left for the viewer, but the agents didn't hesitate to use artifacts in the quest to obtain further artifacts.
