I realize there are people that didn’t like this film, however, I’m not one of those people.
This film is on a different level of nostalgia. I day nostalgia because they were…
1. Using the ORIGINAL home for Michael Myers. (Actual as in the house we saw in the first movie in 1978, where other movies afterwards used complete opposites of this house. Was it the actual house? I don’t know, but I loved that they used it in this movie, rather than some random house)
2. Loomis makes an appearance! CGI did not disappoint and I was not prepared for that.
3. Using the original characters, I thought was an amazing touch. (Kinda bummed about Tommy Doyal not being original) Lindsay Wallace, Sherrif Bracket, Marion Chambers the unfortunate nurse, and of course the original Michael Meyers. Just absolutely awesome and nostalgic and amazing that after such a long time, they came back to Haddonfeild to reprise their roles.
4. Going back to that night in 1978 and the events that took place afterwards, awesome.
5.
A slight negative part of my review…I know, and I’m sure a lot of other viewers know that in the story, the original event took place 40 years ago, I don’t think the audience needed to be reminded of “40 years ago”, it got kind of repetitive.
With all being said, I loved this movie, I thought it was great and probably one of the best trilogies to this film series. Highly recommend to any and all Michael Myers fans.
