To be honest, both Spider man: Homecoming and Spider man: Far from Home were a disappointment. Why? First off, Spider man seemed a bit too weak and emotional. In the comics, he took on the responsibility of being a hero after his uncle died. Even though he had his charismatic personality, he always knew what his duty was. This was definitely seen in the very first Spider man movie with McGuire. Don't get me wrong, Tom Holland did a great job playing Spider man, but the MC lacked maturity. Second, his aunt is too young for my taste. Third, MJ is not MJ, if you know what I mean. (I am not being racist here). MJ was originally caucasian in the comics and had the memorable red hair. Also, she wasn't so stiff like this one is. I'm sorry, but it just doesn't work for me. Lastly, having Tony as his role model was a bit lame. Again, being a dedicated comic fan, I prefer sticking to the original. Peter's role model was his deceased uncle. I find this lacking here. As a comment on the marvel movies with the Avengers (including Peter), having Tony as the center of the entire thing is lame as well. Tony was never the center of the Avengers or the MCU as a whole. To have Peter look up to him is completely wrong.
I understand that there are those who disagree with me, but that's alright. If you liked the movie, then good for you! This is just my opinion.
