Alert: If cannibalism creeps you out, you probably won't want to read this. The protagonist is a former police officer who sustained a horrific attack from a man she was dating who was actually a wanted serial killer in the area. She struggles emotionally and with alcoholism no doubt as a result of past trauma. The story moves along well, and the characters seem believable even though a few are very creepy. I listened to the audiobook and rated it highly.
