The opening Prologue is my always my favourite part of any Star Wars film and keeps me hopeful what I watch will be as authentic as the original trilogy.
Had some exciting moments I really enjoyed . There were perhaps a few scenes and characters that could have been edited out to keep the story a bit more convicting.
Too many characters leads to weak character development. I really loved the portrayal and development between Ray and Kylo Ren. That was beautifully executed.

I didn’t feel satisfied with the ending and was hoping for a dark side twist and a hint at an extended Sidious legacy for a new trilogy. It would have been interesting to see Ray as a sith and Kylo as a Jedi.
I enjoyed the settings for the battles, particularly the Duel in the waves on the fallen Death Star. A nice homage to Revenge of the sith.
I guess in a nutshell I think the film really stuck to the Star Wars story formula. I didn’t like all the chorus characters and felt it was an attempt at representation for each character unnecessary to the plot. You need a series to develop that many characters. In that respect , this single film does invoke a curiosity into all these minor characters but also a disappointment in not getting to see more .
What can I say I love star wars anyway! I’m comparing to other Star Wars movies
