The book "Between Shades of Gray" the movie was based on was great the movie needed a narrator from Lina's point of view because people who have not read the book may not know what is going on in parts of the movie. Certain things were different or missing from the movie that are in the book which is expected. The movie would have been better if it was more like the book. But overall the movie was okay.
