I started watching the tv show because of the series summary and casting. I liked the first two episodes but the pacing was too slow for an avid binge watch like myself, so I started reading the books the tv series is based on. Now I can’t watch the show, the deviation from the book is nonsensical, in many instances it does not improve the storytelling but in fact diminishes it. In a post Game of Thrones book to tv series adaptation, the consumer expects more. They made this a caricature of a vampire tv show, almost The Strain 2.0 when the books offered more than that.
