If you truly wanted to know the quality of this movie, look no further than the reviewers who gave it 5 stars. To think that this movie is set equivalent to the greatest films of all time is an absolute joke. I can smell the self indulgent stench of smelling one’s own farts of the reviewers who were in awe of such a riveting film. If you enjoy an anemic storyline full of half baked metaphors, decent acting but absolutely unbearable character interaction and development, this film is for you! Not to mention the insulting disconnect and pure anti United States rhetoric that’s not so subtle. What a country where you are so free, you can dramatize, exaggerate and degrade to your unoriginal hearts desire without consequence. I hope the brave and heroic director Paul Schrader makes a sequel called baccarat where he analogizes the Chinese governments genocide against the Uigher Muslims and Peng Shuai stars as the lead female role, but she goes missing after standing up against the dictatorship which is the Chinese government… that would take actual courage. Yet, I digress from my disappointment and utter disbelief that this movie was actually signed off as a film that should go to production. In a world where the only truth on public opinion is how people vote with their dollars, <$5m global sales I’d say more people agree with me than the desperate to be different 5 star reviewers.
