It is overly vulgar and Peter is a bit over the top (a bit Matthew Lillard'ish), but my bigger issue is that everyone speaks the Queen's English... despite the fact that they are Russian or German, except when Voltaire shows up... he has a French accent.
That being said I do like the series. I think Catherine's character is great.
