Interesting bilingual film which explores mother and daughter relationships. Great performance by Deneuve, I found the character of Hawke a bit disappointing, a bit too much 'ham' acting maybe. The women in this film shine. It drew me in bit by bit, and after a short time the language change was not even noticeable I was engrossed. Couldn't make up my mind whether I was disappointed by the ending.
