Highly recommended to those interested in seeing the depths to which fanatics will stoop to promote their ideology. I recalled the book from my high school days and thought I'd google it to see if it's still in print. Regrettably it is. This work's greatest accomplishment is to serve as an argument for why a separate system of religious schools should not exist in a modern nation. With the staggering arrogance of a true zealot, the author goes about making the case for why nothing in human history has occurred which was not either ordained by the Christian god to further the mission of Christ, or concocted by the devil to hinder it. I'd like to believe that her narrative is so delusional that only the most committed of Catholic religious ideologues will find it anything other than absurd. Sadly, the book is not intended for those inoculated against its fantasizing by a rudimentary knowledge of history, but for young and impressionable minds. Don't be misled by the use of the word 'history' in the title: this book is the crudest form of propaganda.
