As a gay man born in the 50's, so much of the movie reminded me of what we as gay people have had to endure for thousands of years. Hawk being forced into marrage to protect, not only his carrier, but his life as well has been going on by gay people for those past thousands of years. Just think how happy he and Tim could have been if they could have been openly gay, married and had a long life together, also how Lucy could have married someone that could have made her happy as well.
I did learn somethings from the movie as well, that Roy Cohn and Joseph Macarthy were secretly gay, this was not taught to us in school.
The story line was great, but I did hate the HIV/Aids part of the story, for I lost too many friends from aids, I like the line Marcus said, that he was tired of going to funerals, but that is how it was.
The acting was great by all of the cast, some you loved and some not so much. The movie is a must see, it is very educational!
