The natural thing to expect in a sequel is the continuation of a story. I think Lana has done really well in fulfilling this gift for the OG fans and future Matrix watchers. With the Matrix trilogy being the original storytelling, Matrix Resurrections lifts the plot to the next act of the storytelling.
What reviewers/critics usually fail at when watching these movies is actually watching for the deeper topics of the story.
Therefore it requires stepping out of the world of mechanical and personal ideology- to find deeper revelations.
This is definitely something that this fourth installment as succeeded in.
Lana, along with her entire cast and crew have totally focused the story on unplucking the nails that have crucified each individual to a world of "anti-soul" systems, encouraging individuals to awaken from ideologically crafted mechanisms that were merely built to create an illusion of satisfaction in exchange for one's actual redemption.
Going with the theme, thr fourth installment will naturally be attacked by ideologists who seek to prolong such subliminal tyranny, or folks who are 'ok' with the numbness of artificial and subservient bliss.
Life is about salvation of one's self and of others. This is what the movie is all about.
It's about what we need, and what the cruel do not desire.
