Another amazing, vivid & likeable game franchise whose introduction to Hollywood has been squandered by being granted to the incompetent hack that is Paul WS Anderson (Whose directing of the sixth 'Resident Evil' movie resulted in the death of an actor and the mutilation of a stunt double in freak accidents), who has once again cast his trophy wife (Milla Jovovich) in a role as bland as the film itself. The film is composed of quick & choppy action, followed by slow, long-winded intermediaries of blandness.
Speaking as a fan of MH, it's not hard to make a Monster Hunter movie genuinely enjoyable. And I'm not a big enough shill to even BEGIN trying to defend this movie for simply having the title and creatures of "Monster Hunter".
The online news articles stating Anderson's "grueling strife to make the film as accurate as possible" are pretentious at best, and lying on a pathological level at worst.
If you want genuine Monster Hunter content, play Monster Hunter World/Iceborne, or Monster Hunter Rise when it comes out.
This film misrepresents the world, theme, and even the creatures of the source material. 0/5
