Stunning. From the story to its telling this leaves you taut and disgusted. As it should

Its not a documentary for pete's sake I have no idea why the critics are so hung up on that point. Maybe becasue none of them have ever actually been at the frontiers of human thought. As a scientist this was a wonderful cinematic experience. The chemistry between jones and redmayne is electric and heartwarming at the same time. Loved every moment.

The book was a grimmer read especially the description sof the rebel forces and how the cities exhibited a unique form of parasitic existence, I would have preferred the movie to retain that flavour. Being a physicist I had to block out all the blabber about 'quantum' engines but the cinematography was beyond spectacular. The final scenes are very reminiscent of Helm's deep and in the best possible way.
