Watched the film Wish man last night Hmmmmmmm I knew it was based on a true story about some bloke. Now the movie was well shot but something didn't gel, came over as chessy repetitive the underlying story seemed strong but lacked direction I think. Reminded me of a short film I was involved with once the original cut was lame as but when someone not attached to the shooting of the film got it and re edited it was brilliant. Daniel Steele did a good job but a good actor is only as good as the direction they are given. It was not until the final scene in the restaurant where he gave his speech then spoke about his wish foundation that I twigged who it was about. It is a pity the film let down such a strong and powerful story that needs to be told. Maybe it might get remade by someone else or this version could be re edited with a better result.
Pity to see such a great story wasted.
What went wrong? To many cooks in the kitchen I think, bad direction, poor editing, not sure but it sure missed the mark.
