I used to like Joe when he was on at 6 p.m. Pacific time but usually am not up early enough to watch him in the morning. This election has me so anxious that I sometimes can’t sleep, so I turn on MSNBC. I like Joe less now, and Mika gets on my nerves too, but I like some of the guests like Al Sharpton. I turned the show off today when they trotted out Amy K, whom they had correctly called a “zombie” candidate a couple of days ago. I didn’t wait to see if they would ask her why she was still in the race after placing fifth in her neighboring state Iowa. They started talking about rural health, reminding me of why I can’t stand Amy. She is totally indifferent to the base of the party—black folks—and blabs about how she can win the districts that voted for Trump. White woman, bye! (2023 update) I changed my mind about Amy when she got out of the race for VP, saying it should be a black woman and loved her grilling of my least favorite Amy—the judge who stole a pro-choice black woman’s seat. I also am more likely to sample “Morning Joe” than some of the other MSNBC shows, but all of the shows say too little about white supremacy and nothing about why the majority of white women voted for the self-proclaimed sexual assaulter twice.
