Apparently, the 1st season deserves 5+++++ stars, definitely the best soap opera I've ever seen. I love Liz Gillies' acting, being the perfect role of portraying Fallon as the main character. There's always this thrilling plot filled with tension in every scene. It was absolutely genius, engaging and such a masterpiece. The show was out of the box and full of surprises, in most of time I can't help to scream.
The brilliance of 2nd season unfortunately couldn't keep up with season 1. The plots were starting to become disarranged. Not to mention there's also a scene of flying finger that looks poorly edited of which doesn't suit in a primetime drama at all. They also added more frequent musical parts, which is in some point was sentimental, but in my opinion in the most part they really shouldn't have to put it through.
Season 3 was a whack with everything falling apart. It's just really disappointing with the actors that come and go, being inconsistent, not to mention this show is notorious when it comes to recast. The plots are also seemingly far too made up, weak, and predictable in comparison to the first season. It's worth to skip the parts when it comes to irrelevant ones to the main plot. It feels like the show is starting to get ruined though hopefully won't be for good.
That being said, they're working with season 5 already, which is great to hear since season 4 hasn't been released yet. There's still hope to make mends of the mess from the last season created. They lost me in season 3. Too bad that 5 stars seem too generous to be the given rate, so I come up with 4 stars. Overall it's a great show.
SPOILER ALERT
1. I feel like Sam's presence is not necessarily needed AT ALL after his divorce with Steven. I know that he's a funny guy, but seriously every scene that includes him is a waste of time to watch. The other character that being unnecessary to show is Kirby.
2. The gay romance was downright poorly written, and finally comes to its worst starting from season 2 onwards.
3. Fallon's love story was tear jerking, but as the show continues it becomes deteriorated from the writer's lack of creativity.
4. I don't like the idea on how Adam snoops around everytime without being caught so he can be shown to be manipulative, and how he made an initial appearance the first time in the show with Steven in Paris to put him in Psychiatric Hospital for good.
5. Personally, I miss Steven a lot. I hope that he'll get recruited back after the show ditched him in the middle of season 2. And when he does, it'll be better if he won't be another victim of getting recast. He's one of my favorite character. They should also add more screen time to Monica.
6. Nathalie Kelley and Ana Brenda Contreras were my favorites of playing Celia and Cristal as Blake's wives. I still don't like on how they got rid of Celia (Nathalie Kelley) in the first place. However, Cristal (portayed by Ana Brenda Contreras) was perfect fit to bury down the lede as her presence was starting to blend in. After again Cristal was recasted, it was again really off-putting.
7. Speaking of weak plot, I was pissed at the moment Liam got amnesia.
8. The series is so complicated in family matters. Even they turned back to each other, this show taught us that family is always the place to come home.
P.s. haven't watched the original Dynasty series yet.
