Unlike the first iteration of this concept, it is completely lacking substance and taken a political stance while trying to exploit people in a manipulative manner. Whereas, the first movie exploited people through more conversation and wit. Much of the humor seems forced and the subjects of the movie, who were trying to be exploited, seemed uncomfortable at best with forced polite laughs or smiles.
It felt like this was coming off as yellow journalism and propaganda rushed to yet again exploit one side of America. I feel like a true Borat film would have exploited all sides.
Seems like Sasha hit a new low and has now become a victim of Hollywood, making movies just for money. I give it two stars because of my high expectations from the first movie and my love of the character Borat. Overall, highly disappointed.
