How do people remember joy, and even harder, find it again? The path the four male characters take in this film is desperately hilarious and dangerously sad as they face their vulnerabilities. How lonely to be a man, it seems. The four have withdrawn as they've aged. Complexity and relentlessness of living has worn them down. Their inner adolescent selves need to reemerge perhaps? The group tries self medication and barrels straight toward bacchanalia, and it's fascinating seeing alcohol related behavior from a Danish point of view. The ending is worth everything.
