"Vientos de agua" is superb. It is so much more than the story of an Asturian immigrant to Argentina running away from the Franquistas, and so much more than the story of a desperate Argentinian running away from yet one more financial catastrophe in Argentina. It is, for me, the story of immigration, the pains and sorrows of leaving one's own country and joining a new one and the strong bonds and relationships made with others from any country who are "on the same boat." It is difficult to say in a few words what this story might tell, show, share with any of us, children of immigrants or immigrants ourselves. I saw myself, my mother, and my grandparents on both sides in this story, and I could understand why so much of our past remains untold. Most definitely, a must see. The way the stories are told, paralleled, and intertwined, the acting, the character development, the historical references, everything is just excellent.
