This show drops trough over both Sakowski's books and the lore from the games. That MIGHT be ok if there were an engaging plot and relatable, interesting characters, but there isn't--just obeisance to "diversity" (skin colors) and a vapid plot that quite frankly is not a very plausible background story to the Witcher universe. Netflix must be vying with Amazon to defecate on a popular fantasy franchise. If so, great attempt Netflix!

As a fan of the books, I absolutely hate this adaptation. Let it burn in the 7th level of hell. The latest movie took the books and the successful sci fi channel miniseries and added wokeness, deleted uncomfortable-to-third-wave-feminism quotes and squandered a good opportunity to retell the story. This falls short of the flawed 1984 version. The only achievement was the visuals, but at this film's budget, well, that is not a huge accomplishment. Lead male actor does his best but the director and producer screwed the pooch before filming started.
