Heads up for Joy Division fans -- the hard-to-find "Control" (at least I haven't found it streaming anywhere till now) is now included with Amazon Prime. The Ian Curtis biopic features an amazing performance by Sam Riley, beautiful black and white compositions from director Anton Corbijn and his DP Martin Ruhe, and a fantastic soundtrack. It's based on a book by his widow Debbie, so I think some narrative compromises had to be made, but I think it was an excellent, reasonably even-handed rendering of the singer, the band, and the era. Very dour, but I would recommend following up with "24 Hour Party People" for a guaranteed mood lifter.
