The first season started out with a bang. I did like the faster zombies, they made for a more tense situation. However, it slowly went downhill. In order to give a fair review, I did watch both the first & second season in their entirety. The extremely long scenes where the actor is staring in the distance or at the camera itself can get tedious. Also drove me crazy how much people just simply ran away from one zombie, especially groups of people that could've easily taken out 1 zombie. No one picked up weapons, no brooms, axes, knives, forks etc. Yet, once guns enter the picture(in a very odd way), everyone is an expert at handling them (despite still wasting ammo on body shots) & no one thinks all the sound will draw more zombies and no one thinks to pack a knife as a backup in case they run out of bullets or if the gun jams. By the second season, we're made to believe Rose is some badass, however, she still cannot take out 1 zombie, even when she's with a large group. They all simply run. It blows my mind. Season 2 is darker as it deals more with human to human interaction & survival. Parts of it has its moments of tension, but no one has grown from the first episode in regards to dealing with zombies. It's still just run. At one point a guy picks up a brick to fight back and you think "finally!" But he simply drops it & keeps running. A lot more characters this season and although I was a fan at the beginning of the sequences being titled, I was annoyed with them by end of season 1. I'd recommend watching season 2 to see what happens, it does have its moments, but it will also have you rolling your eyes continuously at certain decisions. I also never felt any kind of connection with any character even at the final episode of season 2. When certain characters die in your favorite shows, or shows you enjoy, you feel a sense of sadness, but since there's no real connection with any characters in this show, it's hard to feel anything for any of them when something bad happens to them. The ending of season 2 was a bit of a head scratcher for me. (I'm trying not to spoil anything) Once again, characters make extraordinary decisions in that you try to connect their thought process that came to that choice, but, for me, I couldn't connect those dots. So, I guess it was left the way it was for a season 3.
