Bottom line, if you are a fan of the books you will loathe this adaptation. It is not RJ’s version of the WoT. If you never read the books, you will be lost on a lot of points but might actually enjoy it. Maybe the next adaptation will be done by someone who doesn’t hate men. Why they have chosen to downplay EVERY male role is mind boggling to me. Women play a huge role. A massive role in this story. The changes made thus far have ruined the story line RJ wrote. You just can’t get back to it anymore. Hard to be more specific without spoilers. Details aside I can live with changes to fit the TV audience. However they have changed so many Core concepts it simply isn’t the WoT. Core concepts that are as solid as gravity. You just can’t alter gravity at a whim and that is just what they did. None readers will see this comment as some kind of anti-woke post. The readers, both male and female, understand what I’m saying. This version of WoT got the Eragon screen treatment. I had so much hope. Doubt I’ll tune into season 2.
