I am a big fan of the book series so I was excited about the movie! I have a special needs older brother and I work with individuals with disabilities. I know all too well how those with different needs are underestimated in the world we live in and it’s NOT right! I loved that this movie captured how one child rose above the challenges. I was especially impressed with the young actress playing the lead. I see a bright future for her.

Saw the film earlier with my mom. We thought the movie was excellent. The performances were top notch and the music was awesome. I especially loved the two new ones. I have seen the stage production and honestly, the differences in the movie did not seem to bother me at all. In fact, I thought the ending of the movie was more clearer than the stage’s, thought both were great in their own right. I think what I love best about the movie is that it brings into light mental health. Even in these uncertain times, we all have felt alone and that no one understands. What the film illustrates is that nobody is alone.
