This attempt at a Bad News Bears, Little Giants rip off is pretty awful. Loosely based on real world events following the NFL "Bountygate" scandal involving the suspension of Saint's Head Coach Sean Payton, this 90 minute debacle is full of un-funny running gags. A loud jacuzzi pump and a weird front desk clerk fail to deliver any laughs and of course Rob Schneider rears his head as the vegan, yoga/ meditation obsessed step father of Payton's estranged son. The performance from Kevin James as the suspended Saint's coach really falls flat comedically and paints the coach in a fairly poor light as an absentee father who doesn't have a relationship with his 12yr old son until his suspension from the NFL forces him to step away from the game and try and build a relationship with his son. At least we were spared an appearance from Sandler and another goofy voiced sophomoric attempt at humor. Watch at your own risk.
