Not sure what is going on in the world of reviewers. I’m struggling to relate to all of the positive reviews I’ve read. I love Elton John’s music and was really looking forward to this film but I found it surprisingly boring. Great performances from taron egerton, Jamie bell and ‘the bodyguard’, but the film was pretentious with painful musical interludes/skits. Also too much self pitying about his childhood from exec producer Elton and not enough entertainment or music. Every song was butchered or curtailed, No timeline or context given either. ‘Bo Rhap’ was panned by the critics but I much preferred it!! Such a wasted opportunity
