Pretentious and generic, not a film one would suppose could be directed by George Clooney in a million years. Twee "old grumpy man's heart warms up with love for the little child" scenes were simply nauseous. Plot was infantile. This could well be a film school project.

A simple show, for simple people. The extremely formulaic structure of this show makes it a winner for people who easily buy into the same old, same old tough guy with a heart of gold premise, but if you're looking for something original, forget it. Characters are cardboard, there is no style to how it's shot and a 16 year old could have written it.

Laughably cliche-ridden (even for 2001) this is essentially a B-movie best enjoyed by leaving logic at the door. Production values are high but anybody looking for coherent adult entertainment best look elsewhere
