this movie tried to be too many things, and IMO was about half an hour too long. there was endless generic, boring dialogue, and alot of cheesy situations, but I guess that's expected with a movie like this. the biggest hurdle was the length of the movie for me, it's hard to sit there for +2 hours and watch a fairly unoriginal idea play out in lazy ways. the actors even seemed like they were all just reading the lines, none of them showed any really passion in the movie.

I think it had a ton of funny moments, and a great cast, but the film could have easily been half an hour shorter. alot of the covid jokes are about a year too late. and if they cut some of the cringe TikTok dance scenes out, and a couple of the weird scenes that didn't really fit with the movie, it would have been really funny and worth the watch. but for over two hours of your time? for mostly trend based comedy, that has alot of unnecessary scenes? I just don't see this as something people are going to rewatch, especially not a year or two from now. it was worth watching. once, right now, because covid is relevant right now. but if you are watching this more than two years after it was released, most of the jokes won't even be funny.

it has a lot of really funny moments, but it's so blatantly pandering to gen z, with the constant tinder, Instagram, social media/app references that will be completely irrelevant in a couple years. it's kind of funny now, but in 5 years, like all of their jokes will be outdated and no one will want to rewatch. because trends aren't rewatch material, and that's what this entire shows comedy has been. it has potential,but making an unrealistically diverse cast, and completely trend dependent comedy, makes it hard to feel anything towards the cast or episodes, and makes me feel like the show will only last a couple seasons. and even now, these episodes still feel like a year behind with the trends and references anyways, so I want this show to improve and work in the long run, but I don't see it as being a long running show like HIMYM
