This film has great actors like Pugh, Kroll, even Styles isn’t a bad actor. But not only does it make little sense (to me anyways), but the script in general is poorly written. The only good thing in this film is the costume and set design. Olivia Wilde should probably stop directing films. This is just a cheap remake of a story being told over and over. If you like the context, go watch Pleasantville (1998) or even both Stepford Wives (1975 & 2004). You’ll most probably have a lot more fun watching those than this.

Just want to say that this is a good enough film, but it is really typical and everything reminds me of the really good film The Spectacular Now. The main character is a typical white cis male who is clearly going through the same existential crisis as any other teenager who is about to graduate. Good enough film, but watch The Spectacular Now (2013) with Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller. A good film which is not so typical and predictable.
