This movie isn't too bad if you think about it as an unintentional comedy. Besides the opening scene the rest of the scares were comprised of googly eyed monsters that looked too silly to be in an Evil Dead knockoff. I will say that after i realized the tone i was laughing a lot, but mostly at how each scare tried to outdo the last with how stupid it could look. The plot is repetitive, basically retelling the first movie with the adults and adding unnecessary flashbacks of them as kids.
Spoiler Alert: at one point a small dog turns into a cgi zombie Scrappy Doo from the first live action Scooby Doo movie. And that's not even the silliest thing
The acting is really great though and the characters are solid. Bill Hader is the standout star. The film moves at a nice pace and it doesn't drag for the length.
