The best Transformers movie yet!!
I'll admit upfront that I have a serious bias.
I grew up with the transformers, having been engrained into the franchise since I was a kid (when Transformers Energon started to air).
I read a lot of spoiler free reviews and already had lower expectations going to see the film.
I cannot believe I let the reviews get to me!
The movie is awesome!
I would say the movie definitely doesn't deserve the negative reviews bombing it has been.
The Movie is full of heart and makes me very excited for the next!
I always give Transformers movies flak for overusing or centering around human characters, but this is the first to make me actually enjoy what we get from the human aspect.
The voice acting is peak, the music choices were exquisite, and the action is packed!
As far as movies go, it's a typical mcguffin-centered plot, but that's nothing new for Transformers.
This is how it's been done since 1984.
My biggest gripe is the title of the movie.
The beasts weren't rising, hell they didn't really show up until after the first half of the movie, and when they did they mostly took a backseat.
The pacing felt like it started to lull around the midway point but it ramped up and took off into the stratosphere that led us right into the climax of the film.
For a two-hour movie, it felt shorter. It kept me engaged the whole time between the actions and the comedy.
If you are like me and you had watched every single trailer, TV spot, featurette before seeing the movie, you'd have seen a good percentage of the movie, and yet still they kept the surprises coming.
Overall, it's just a great movie.
I can't wait until I can add it to my Blu Ray collection in a couple months
