Amazing. Honest. Daring to be real. I am not surprised that so many people expected fireworks and were disappointed by reality. No one wants to think about a child dying...deal with grieving people...it changes everything. Gosling's performance was so gracefully honest and compassionate. Thank you from the pediatric brain cancer (DIPG) community. We hope this film helps our #Moonshot4Kids this year; there's been no change in standard treatment or terminal prognosis of DIPG since his daughter died of it in 1962. DIPG is responsible for the majority of childhood mortality due to brain cancer, the #1 killer of children with cancer in the US. It's one of the least funded areas of research because the patient population size doesn't warrant the investment, under the rules by which our medical research system operates--corporate values, not human values. We hope this is the year that the DIPG Awareness Resolution passes Congress-the 50th Anniversary of the Moonwalk!
