One of worst movies I've ever seen. Read some other reviews here so I guess I missed the boat here? What indication was there that the viewer was supposed to know he had mental issues or that it was told from the daughter's perspective? I consider myself a fairly intelligent movie viewer but I had no clue from the get go what I was watching.

Shockingly disappointing. Expected and wanted to love and recommend this after never seeing for over 15 years. Great cast but they all seemed miscast if that makes sense with the possible exception of Swinton, Jenkins and Simmons. Shocking that I just thought McDormand, our queen, was outright bad perhaps playing against type as dumb which no one would buy. Pitt was a little more convincing in that mode. I don't know; based on all these great reviews which I respect, someday I will rewatch? Malkovich never a fan and he was even more painful to watch in this. Overacting personified

Revisited The Mindy Project since the last two seasons were on Hulu so I never saw them. But binged the Fox episodes, seasons 1 to 4 also since it had been so long. Cast actually improved as series progressed. Fortune, Ike, Garrett, Rebecca, Bryan, the WHOLE cast was perfect. Had to rewind to appreciate the brilliant nuanced writing especially Dillahunt's delivery of just hysterical Southern cliches!! Beautifully filmed. Great soundtrack. Mindy Kaling just pitch perfect especially in the episodes she and Matt wrote. Critics below totally missed the satiric intent. Nothing and no one was spared on this show. The humor was often raw and cutting.

Was scrolling down Showtime's for "In The Bedroom' to honor Tom Wilkinson when I saw this, one of my all time favorites!! Back in the day, although about 6 years later than the movie was set, we quoted every line at the bars. The acting is exhilarating! I can't imagine what it must have been like to view the play on Broadway!! Or even the film in a theater.

Ugh. Just cringe from start to finish. Waste of an amazing cast. You know when Michael and Taissa are bad, something went off the rails. Writing? Directing? Just tried so hard to make them tough and "real" but ultimately just totally unreal and unlikable. Swank and Danner are of course incredible together but whole thing needed a rewrite. But I finished it only to see how it resolved with a strange, huh, what??, twist at the end. Shocked by all the positive reviews here ... so obviously don't go by me?! Everyone loved it

Ozark's Ruth Langmore prequel. Tell me Julia Garner and writers of Ozark didn't use Vanessa Lutz as inspiration for Ruth!! Even some of Ruth's catchphrases are used. Movie isn't for the feint of heart and the black detective is so godawful its amazing he made the cut but black black dark politically incorrect comedy at its finest. Sutherland and Shields are a hoot but this is all early Reese raw and uncut. Tour de force. Watch Election right after.

I rarely regret spending 2 hrs watching a film but this was excruciating. Saw it on Broadway but had trouble with hearing devices so was anxious to hear what I missed. Not much apparently? At home I listen with ear buds and closed captioning. There were scenes so dark with dialogue spoken across rooms I couldn't imagine how people with normal hearing were expected to understand? Countless shots of badly damaged apt and ppl startled by noises and others over and over and over ... we got it! Not a nice place to live. Do places like this even exist in 2000s NYC?!

Love it! Andrea Savage is a comic goddess, gorgeous, hilarious, you want her to be your BFF !! Amazing support especially from hubby who like me laughs at EVERYTHING she says/does ... how could you not? I couldn't get through a taping with her. Kathy frigging Baker is SO adorable as her mother! It feels ad libbed like they are making it up as they go along. Martin Mull, another classic sitcom role! His boudoir wall of fame and Savage's reaction is my favorite bit so far. (Paraphrasing) um, dad, there is not a world where I can ever forget your ask ... most amazing part of I'm Sorry is that no matter how many times I have watched each episode, I feel as though I am watching for the first time and discover something different every time. My only issue I really missed her writing partner guy from Brooklyn 99 in season 2 ... he was brilliant in this and while I love B99, I couldn't stand his character.
