I found the movie to be good. Ackie did a nice job as did most of the actors. For the movie to be as long as it was, it definitely could have went deeper. It touched on quite a bit of Ms. Houston’s life but didn’t delve too deep into any of them. The performances were great and I felt a wide range of emotions; at times singing along to other times wiping away tears. This movie is worth seeing but also leaves you wanting more. What a tragic end to a wonderfully talented artist’s life.

I love this show. It has a very interesting storyline, a great cast of actors, and beautiful style that represents our community well. Our kind of People gives a glimpse into a version of African American existence that is rarely depicted. I am here for all of it. And I must say that YaYa bodied this role. Please come back with a season 2!
