It's a stunningly beautiful album that's lusciously recorded. It's a shame the songs themselves are dull as dish water.
I bought the album on 12-inch vinyl. Not only did they press the LP on hefty, 180-gram slabs of vinyl, they also limited the pressings to no more than three songs per side. They clearly knew what to do to offer the best sound!!
Not only is the record a feast for your ears, but its visually magnificent feature images of artworks paired with each song and an essay by the artist discussing the work. You really need to see it!!
It's just a shame that all effort is wasted on songs that are instantly forgettable. In a sense, the record is much like his last record of original material.
Quick!! Quick!! Name that album!! Or a song from it!!
Yeah. I can't either.
This record offers more of the same.
