Im always a Steven Spielberg fan since that time I saw ET and Jaws. For me he's the greatest director Hollywood has given us. He will always be my favorite filmmaker. Though recently his box office magic was affected by the pandemic. Movies has really affected the cinema going public. I enjoyed most of his films and even had collection from VHS to DVD of his blockbuster movies. I have some books too about Steven Spielberg. His two latest films- remake of West Side Story is a musical and The Fabelmans is a semi-autobiographical look at his teen years in post war America when movies became an integral part of every growing up teenager just like me in the 60's and 70's which I myself relates much. The spectacle of modern entertainment has come to life in every Spielberg's film. Steven's blockbuster films including the Indiana Jones Trilogy and Jurassic Park and Saving Private Ryan. The drama of Schindler List and The Color Purple in a way of suffering and victory in the time of WWII and America racism. There's more... the child on me was re-awaken through Hook, Empire of the Sun and Tintin.
Over more than 50 years of filmmaking tackling every subject under the sun like sharks (Jaws), dinosaurs (Jurassic ) and extra terrestrial (ET and Close Encounters of the Third Kind) and more. I don't think any other director can match his caliber... his film prowess and expertise. His latest film The Fabelmans a brilliant coming of age story based of Steven's childhood and his introduction to movies in post war America. Feeling sad... It didn't get any award in the recent Oscars in spite of 7 nominations including Best Picture and Best Director.
