Boring, slow, intensity and style of music is off. I don't fully understand the point or the rules. It's such an odd way to frame people climbing up a mountain. If it was a 30 minute episodes with a whole lot less focus on manufactured tears, it might be ok.

Yawn... The plot was the thin, repetitive, and predictable. There were jump scares and gore, sure, but if you can piece together an order at McDonald's, you can figured out the end by the time Sky Rizi is introduced. *Film setup* A being haunts a person until someone else watches that person die or kill someone. Enter a troubled pop star who is about to perform to a massive audience. That's it. There's nothing in between. The storyline doesn't move forward. Any time you think there will be growth, we get flashbacks. Similar movies that are far more enjoyable: Oculus The Substance Black Swan Shutter Island

I could not look away from the screen, and sometimes I really wanted to. OMG this movie unlocked a special place in my horror movie heart. I don't want to do a deep dive, because going in blind is so much more fun. Just watch it!

I wish I liked this movie. There were events that could have been cool, and I think I get the point, but it was honestly 2 separate movies crammed together. There is no chemistry, just a lot of dialogue and monologuing. None of it is how people actually speak. They were trying to make a point with everyone talking over each other, but it's not effective. Idk, definitely not worth 2:15 minutes of my life

It was hard to get through the beginning. The odd loud noises, the concept was strange. A few attempts were made until I sat down and really watched it. Bella Baxter is one of the most compelling female protagonists I've seen and I found her story to be entirely relatable to my own. Emma Stone is brilliant and absolutely deserved the Oscar for best actress. Mark Ruffalo is genius and his flamboyant juxtaposition to Bella's rigidity is impeccable. He honestly made me laugh so much thinking about the men in my life that devolved into screaming 4 letter words as a desperate attempt to tear me down. Willem DaFoe is just as brilliant as ever. I just watched the lighthouse and I honestly don't understand how one man can be so talented. He's a dad trying his best, but he's also a cutting edge scientist with emotional damage. It seems so basic, yet Willem makes it unique and memorable. The music, the cinematography, the lighting and editing, they all bring a life to the film, exploring the world from Bella's view and bringing us along in her head, without the narrative or aside that a less brilliant movie might have done. TLDR: Amazing actors. Relatable plot. Humourous and serious. Might take a few tries, but HIGHLY recommend.

It was a fantasy with a dose of reality. If you like AHS and 911 and a little overacting, it’s fun. I do have to say tho, some parts are way too out there. Trying not to spoil anything, but if a cop knocks on your door and 10 seconds later you scream, the officers would surely hear it, right?!
