Saw it couple nights ago. Thought I had only seen part of it. Didn't realize it was only a 5 minute movie until looking to watch it on PBS site. Turns out I did see the whole thing. But nevertheless, it's still just as excellent as my first impression. Watching it on PBS, the last scene was a lot darker than watching it on tv. Don't know why.
But it's a simple film. Just letting her talk. But that's the best way to let you look at the unique mix of real world astuteness and adult ideals mixed with the enthusiasms and mannerisms of kids that age. For both boys and girls but girls have a different way of being endearing. So since this was about a girl, you get to see why girls are so endearing.
You're going to want it to be longer than 5 minutes or a part 2.
The editing was also smoothly done in the unnoticeable way that the casual viewer may not ever think about until they see a short film that doesn't have a nice flow to it.
