Rating: 3/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ As it was one of my favourite childhood films, I’m sad to say that I was disappointed. While the graphics are amazing and the story was pretty much identical to the original animation, it lacked that magical Disney factor. I feel that there may have been too much focus on making the animals characters more realistic that at times it could have been interpreted as a wildlife documentary, that’s more of the vibe I got unfortunately. Also both of my children that are 7 and 9 and have watched the animated Lion King numerous times (we have it on dvd) said after watching the new version at the cinema “it wasn’t as good as the cartoon”.
