This movie was....okay. It felt like a Netflix original. In that context it would be pretty good but this is DreamWorks! I wanted this movie to make me laugh out loud. I thought it would be one of those. I only got a few chuckles here and there. Also why the heck are there some anthropomorphic animals and some regular animals? And why are there humans too? Zero explanation. Along with the animation style, it's just jarring. The animation itself is a cool concept but sometimes it's too much. Let me give some praise to this movie because I am being pretty negative here. **SPOILERS** I like the concept that the wolf's tail begins to wag when he does something good. I think they could have revolved around that idea more, but they also could have made it less cheesy. Anyway positive things sorry...I like the plot twists. There were a couple I didn't see coming. Like I said the animation is kinda fun. Overall it's a fun movie night watch but it doesn't measure up to, say, Zootopia. I feel like it's definitely geared towards kids, and nothing super scary is in here in my opinion so it would be fun for the whole family.

This show was meh. I love Monsters Inc. and Monsters University wasn't too bad. But this is a joke! No pun intended. The characters are so flat and the storylines are pretty predictable. There's not enough unique conflict that happens. Tylor drives me crazy. He's the most one-dimensional character of them all. No personality! C'mon Pixar, you gave us Up, Finding Nemo, Cars, Toy Story, Coco, Luca. You can do better with this one! Update: Ok seriously you're gonna randomly throw in an LGBT moment into Season 2 because you can? Now my kids can't watch this show. How sad that I can't trust Disney anymore. Look if you choose that lifestyle who am I to tell you what to do? But pushing it as hard as this in EVERYTHING is making me weary and annoyed. I never once thought I'd have to shield my kids from Disney Junior. What was once wholesome is now a tool for agenda pushing. No thanks.

Guys. It's a kids show. It's just good clean fun that isn't meant to be MCU canon. Yes the voices do grate and they changed the gender of Doc Oc. Also they have a non-binary character which I'm not a fan of. But that person is in one episode and it's not blatantly obvious. If they mentioned it too much I'd question this show and probably not let my kids watch it. I took two stars off because of the gender change and the binary character. It's ending up in everything and it bothers me. But it hasn't tipped into unwatchable territory and my kids like the super heroes in the show. Not the best kids show but not the worst. Just look up Boobah. *Shudder*

So stinking cute, nostalgic and a tear jerker at times. ❤️. So fun to see all the characters together.. **SPOILER** the part with Mickey taking some time to look at Walt Disneys portrait and say thanks almost made me bawl like a baby!!! Also seeing all the characters come together to take the photo just got me in the feels. What a perfect tribute to an amazing legacy. On to year 200!! One complaint....the song at the end, while nostalgic, was a bit cheesy for me. But it was heartfelt and sweet nonetheless.

It was ok. Not my favorite though. The animation style was a little different and "popped out" too much or something. The characters weren't quite themselves, as though they were aware it's been a long time and have matured or something. I feel like that happens sometimes with shows that come back after a long time. The actors/directors have changed so much over time that the feeling is different. In the other movie I had the feels so bad! It was epic and you were biting your fingernails wondering how they'd get out of their predicament. The intensity in this film, however, was very vanilla. I'm hoping with the series revival they improve upon this and make it feel the same as it did before.

Not the most amazing thing I've ever seen but it did make me laugh sometimes. Something I struggled with was the pace. Mario arrived in the mushroom kingdom and just kind of went "oh, ok" and then Toad comes and randomly leads him to the princess even though he has no idea who Mario is. Then Princess Peach is just kind of like "ok I'm going to make you a great fighter and also make you good at random obstacle courses". Mario does take a whole montage to get better at his skills, so I'll give him that, and then he goes to fight Donkey Kong and at first he fails, but then he succeeds and then he defies all death along with the others. Anyway basically the pace was just too quick. Not much of a character arc for anyone. No one had depth to them. I feel like they could have done so much better!! Also the world just kind of exists because it just does! No rhyme or reason. Mario just melds into the world at the drop of a hat without complaining about not being home. He's not extremely worried about Luigi. He's definitely concerned but if it were my brother missing I wouldn't stop thinking about it or worrying about it. Any back story is surface level. There could.have been so much more history about Mario and Luigi. The creators could have made it so much more touching. Mario is just headstrong and Luigi is less brave and clumsy. That's about it Also they talked about Peach's background and then just kind of left it. I wanted them to elaborate!!! Bowser was funny. The song made me chuckle. The beginning with the penguins was funny. I'm sad the penguins weren't included more. Where the heck is Yoshi in this film?! I know there's an *SPOILER**** Easter egg (no pun intended) at the end of the credits but c'mon, just put it in the first movie. I feel like if you're.going to go out of your way to make the best Mario movie you can, you have to have more of an actual story. Again everything was very at-the-surface. Can I just say though, that the animation is stellar? It's incredible! It looks exactly how I would have pictured it. If you think of the latest CG Mario games, it's basically that with way better graphics. Probably just a bit better than Mario kart 8. I loved it! At the same time it was almost too good. I got too distracted by it sometimes. But that's probably because I'm a nerd. Haha. Anyway it's enjoyable. I'd watch it again. Some parts are probably a bit too scary for very young children in some places but it's not too scary overall. It's no Encanto or Frozen II But it's enjoyable especially if you've played Mario and Donkey Kong a lot. I am probably being too harsh on it, as it's probably more geared towards kids.

**SPOILERS** Not bad, not mind blowing. I will admit it's my favorite live-action Disney film that has come out. Don't get me wrong I love Emma Watson. I just feel like she was a bit robotic in this. I think her voice is very pretty but it's also heavily auto-tuned. Her acting could have been better and when she got angry, she could have sold it more. It was all pretty one-note. But I'm biased and I really like her so I tend to overlook that more than I probably should. In the animated version Belle and Maurice's relationship seems authentic and I feel an instant connection to them and I feel their love and care for each other. In this one, I see that they tried so hard to get the same feeling, but there was a weird wall there that I can't explain. The fact that she wasn't as sad as I wanted her to be when her dad was taken out of the castle might have something to do with it. Again her acting was just shallow! I did like the funny little Maurice moments. Like when he sits at the table at the castle and Chip says something like "Mother told me not to talk, because it might be scary. Sorry." Then he says "it's alright" and smiles and then quickly gets the heck out of there. 😂 I do love how they leaned in to more accurate protrayal of France in the 1700s. The powdered wigs, the white makeup, the costume. The ornate style of the castle is breathtaking. The CGI however looks unfinished and doesn't always meld well with the live action. For example when the wardrobe turns back into a human, there's ribbons and clothing that burst everywhere. It looks SO fake and it bothers me! If you're going to do CGI, you have to do it right. The added musical numbers were a nice touch. Evermore was my favorite addition. I felt like it added depth to the story. I felt like they could have pushed harder and gone more into Belle's past, as well as the prince. They tried but didn't go deep enough. If you are going to do that, you need to commit! Otherwise it's just shallow and unnecessary. I'm not sure if I like the beast as CGI. I think it would have been better if they went more with face makeup and real fur so it looked more natural. But you have to be careful with that or else it's just cheesy. Gaston is ok. I like his deep voice in the animated version and I wish they had kept that in this. They didn't need to make Lafou gay. Sorry but it's true. If you want homosexual portrayal in adult films, who am I to stop you? If you put it in something you know kids will be watching, that's when I have a problem with it. The moments when he's massaging Gaston's shoulders and fawning over him a bit...I'm sorry it's just uncomfortable to me. It's not something I want to see personally. I LOVE the end credits. The imagery and music are breathtaking to me. Overall it's right down the middle for me. Not bad but could have been better.

Meh. Pretty vanilla. Not much really happens. They should have made a movie instead of a series, and they could have left out so much of the fluff. The guy who takes Santa's place is so repetitive and the daughter has no substance (not her fault. She's a very cute girl). The comedy falls flat. Scott just isn't himself. Maybe I'm just old! Lol. The humor nowadays is just not my thing. The other Santa Clauses, especially the first one, made me laugh. This one...meh. it was an ok watch but at the end of the day I'm not left craving more. It's even lower than a Hallmark movie in my book.

I grew up with the book and I also grew up watching the film. As a kid I liked it, especially because of the music. As an adult, I find the overall anger from the Tom Hanks characters and the elves a bit puzzling and jarring. It's the North Pole for goodness sake! They should be jolly and joyful, not cryptic and creepy. Like the book! Also back when it was released, to me I was like "woah, the animation!" Now I'm like...."woah, the animation. Creepy!" It's too "uncanny valley" for me. The plot is random and inexplicably odd. So I gave it 1 star for being a Christmas movie, one for the music, and 1 for being nostalgic. Sure I watch it almost every year but it does lack character. Watch Muppet Christmas Carol or Arthur Christmas for actual depth and a plot that makes more sense.

How did this score in the 70s on Rotten Tomatoes? This movie is amazing!!!! I grew up watching this movie year after year and I can't think of a better way to celebrate the holiday season. This movie is warm and charming. Not one song is wasted and not one moment is wasted. Everything is built up perfectly. Michael Caine is perfection. All the characters fit well into their roles. Seriously no Muppet movie has ever come close to this classic. If you want to feel Chrismas-y, watch this film! It will do your soul some good.
