I've been playing MechWarrior since the board game days in the 90s, and yes I know they have been out of the video game scene for a long time, however the graphics are great, as far as the mechs taking damage and the way they look, however the game itself although it has a lot to do tons of unlimited missions, the game itself is generic, firstly with the character movements and talking, no customization of characters whatsoever. As far as your station or spaceship, a lot of detail very clean no realism, no grit and grime no leaky pipes nothing that makes it feel lifted very very generic. As far as your mechwarriors, very dated Interiors, no digital anything, a bunch of analog dials, which have no purpose except for dressing, you cannot look in your cockpit even when playing from the inside, the wiring and buttons look 90s futuristic, not modern-day futuristic, no digital screens no touch screens no such devices, however great amount of buttons which cannot be used touched or done anything with in any type of way. Weapon and Mac setup is decent, however with today's technology it should be more in debt, the amount and or variety of weapons has not changed since the original MechWarrior games, with the exceptions of a few little things, the mechwarriors themselves have not changed with the exception of a few variants of models no new models as of yet, as far as giving and taking damage it does give damage to particular areas however no problem damage, though your Mech may lose a leg or an arm, there's no damage leaks overheating, bad actuators, Etc occasionally you'll get a weapon jam with self-correct itself, this game has the ability to be monumental, all they have to do is allow sniping Vision which you do not have, you have 2 or 4 x magnification that's about it, they have to increase the variants of weapons and modifications, they have to increase the specifics of damage, they have to stop with the artwork portraits, and no MechWarrior is really damaged until you lose a weapon or are totaled, no variant of damage, for example overheating problem, a movement problem, and aiming problem, system problems, nothing of the sort oh, just a bunch of shiny little generic pictures that just like back in the eighties and nineties you wish you could touch or do something with. If they expect this franchise to rekindle itself, now is the perfect time, there are no cracked screens for windshields, no artillery shells flying around, perfectly sterile atmospheres, no flames or smoke or parts, the vehicles come apart like 80s and 90s generic games, no flying pieces no smoke damage, no fog of War, I mean that literally, Noah haziness no true weather effects, your weapons may heat up more on other planets than pending on the train, however when you visit an ice planet weapon heat should be cut by at least 40% which it is not. No oxygen system leaks, nothing modern whatsoever. Maybe this is just a sample for them to see how it does, but once they advance 20 years in their game technology that game will definitely be a hit, they literally picked up right where they left off, and that is not
