I gave this movie 5 stars for one reason only. Olivia Cooke's performance was so incredibly good and unexpected from the character I had got to know her from in the Bates Motel. Not that she wasn't terrific in that series also, but she can tug on your heart strings so strongly in any role she plays.
In Katie says goodbye, she plays so convincingly an innocent and good hearted soul caught up in a sad lifestyle that has her forced into "the end justifies the means" unknowing rationalization of her behavior. The inevitable ending came as a surprise to me and had me reaching for a tissue to pat my eyes.
