Through most of the movie I was concentrating on why being "rough around the edges" and "just out of prison" means you don't brush your hair. IMHO, I think well known, A-list actresses (having seen Charlize Theron win an Oscar for her performance in Monster) get sucked into the lauded "bravery" of going bare-faced and unkempt for all to see. Most of us need only look in the mirror in the morning to see such "bravery". I really like Sandra Bullock, but this movie is a nothing burger.
